Status.European Documentation Centre of KTU Institute of Europe has given an official status of European Documentation Centre from European Commission in 2003. EDC by the contract with European Commission gives the all official ES editions in paper and electronic form from 29 of April in 2003.
Mission:
accumulate and systemize the EU documents;
provide a possibility to use the documents for Kaunas academic community and institutions and for other visitors of official institutions;
inform KTU and other Kaunas academic, governmental and business institutions when some important documents come.
Activity:
accumulate EU documents (from the begining of Centre activity) by recommendation of European Commission in the date basis in paper and CD form.
lend an approach to documents both in paper and in electronic form for visitors of EDC - locally.
help visitors to find information locally, by telephone, by e-mail and help to organize exhibitions, seminars and conferences.
integrate EDC basis of documents by links of KTU library information system, which could be opened for all visitors of library by Internet.
cooperate with others European Documentation Centres in Lithuania European Commission libraries, country government institutions and with non-government organizations.
give information about others official internet search bases of EU documents and point their addresses.
cooperate with EU Jean Monnet project in Institute of Europe and to participate in the activity of EU Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence.
