Institute of Europe

• initiates and carries our research and applied programmes as well as projects, aimed at investigation of processes and problems in the fields of the European policy, law, economics, high studies, research and technological development, culture, mutual relations and life modes of nations;
• patronages Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programmes of European studies;
• participates in student and lecturers/professors exchange programmes;
• participates in Jean Monnet programme;
• is a member of the European Union information network;
• accumulates, analyses, summarises and disseminates analytical data and other information on European issues, official documents of the European Union in particular;
• disseminates the official information of the European Union to the University academic community, state institutions, business representatives, educators and other society groups;
• convenes scientific, cognitive and practical conferences, seminars, disputes, etc. on European issues;
• intermediates for the State institutions in order to involve the University's academic potential into analysis of European integration problems, helps the country's preparation for the membership process, propagates and co-ordinates their works at the University;
• helps the country to prepare for the integration into the European Union, other European institutions, organisations and associations;
• pmaintains collaboration with local and foreign institutions;
• participates in the process of continuous education on European issues at the University level and in the country's;
• keeps informing Lithuanian society on issues concerning European integration;
